DUTCH OVEN CARE INSTRUCTIONS

BEFORE FIRST USE

Remove all labels, hand wash in hot soapy water, rinse and towel dry immediately.

PRE-SEASONING INSTRUCTION

  • Thoroughly wash and dry the piece to be seasoned.
    • Coat the cookware including the cast iron lid (if applicable) with a thick layer of vegetable oil using a pastry brush or a cloth.
    • The entire cookware surface must be coated with oil. Place the cookware in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees for 1 hour. After one hour, turn off the oven and allow cookware to cool gradually.

CLEANING

  • Hand Wash Safe Only.
  • To clean, wash with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly and dry immediately.
  • Do not soak cast iron.
  • Do not allow to air dry. Towel dry immediately after each wash.
  • Using for an extended period of time without cleaning may result in accumulation of dust, forming grime that is hard to wipe off later.
  • To remove hard grime, rub with abrasive sponge/plastic scrubbing pad, then re-season (follow re-seasoning instruction detailed below).
  • To protect pre-seasoned coating, hand-wash only and dry immediately. Some soaps or detergents contain degreasing action which can remove the seasoning. If that is the case, please follow the re-seasoning procedures
  • Do not use bleach
  • Do not use oven cleaners.
  • If your cookware includes a lid, store separately to allow for air circulation

Cast iron cookware provides unparalleled heat retention, which is crucial to maintaining a consistent oil temperature when deep-frying.

  • For best results, use medium-high heat.
  • If the cookware is scratched and the pre-seasoned layer is removed, it must be seasoned again.
  • Always hand wash and dry completely before storing away.
